Myself, my hubby and three kids have just returned home from eating at Ma Hubbards for our tea. After looking at the menu my hubby ordered the Steak Pie with chips and peas. I ordered the big pud (steak & kidney pudding) with chips and peas. My eldest ordered chicken Kiev with chips & beans. My middle son ordered Spaghetti Bolognese from the kids menu and my youngest had already had tea at a friends house so he just had sticky toffee pudding. The meals were really cheap, the kiev and steak pie were both £1.99, the steak & kidney pudding was £3.99 and the spaghetti bolognese was £1.99. My hubby went to the bar and got the drinks and it seemed like 5 mins later the food was there! Not a good sign as its a sure thing everything has been microwaved The spaghetti bolognese would've filled a 3 year old, my son is 8, it came on a plate the size of a side plate. My hubby said his meal was pretty dire, my son's Kiev was the usual processed chicken rubbish. My steak & kidney pudding was hard around the edges and on the bottom (probably caused by the microwave) and the peas were like tasteless bullets, even my youngest left his pudding! The customer service was virtually non existent, we had to call the waitress over to order after she had shown us to our table 10 mins earlier and we never saw her again! Here is my rating: Customer service - 2/10 Quality of food - 1/10 Value for money - 5/10 Conclusion - You get what you pay for! Advice - If you are ever in the Austerfield area, do not eat at Ma Hubbards!!!

Aww that's a shame you didn't enjoy it Dee. I hate places like that where they just reheat everything to within an inch of it's life, and it tastes all dried up. We went to a restaurant a few weeks ago called the Royal Toby, in Rochdale and the meal was faultless, except I asked for my steak well done and it was cremated. You could taste the burnt bits around the edges, so that spoilt it a bit for me. But overall with the starters and dessert it was pretty good. I'll know next time not to ask for it well done. Couldn't eat it with blood in it though. YUK.
