A bit of a random tip but I just did it and it worked a treat! If you have a plastic sink/draining board unit that is a different colour from the normal white or cream after a while it tends to go white in places. I don't know whether its to do with detergents or the water. I have a green one that is made out of a plastic that is quite rough and whilst it looks great when i wash it down, when it dries it has white marks. I put a little bit of olive oil on a piece of kitchen roll and rubbed it into the draining board, it takes the white away straight away and because its oil, its also waterproof so it lasts for ages, you can wipe it down as normal and it still stays looking shiny and the colour its supposed to be. It might be a useless tip for most people but you never know, somebody else could be having the same problem ;D

Better idea Dee, get rid of the draining board and get a dishwasher

LOL, I do have a dishwasher Kim, I wouldn't be without it ;D The draining board just gets used for storing plates that need to go into the dishwasher as I seem to be the only one that can load it up
